CBI NI responds to approval of North-South Energy Interconnector

“With support from businesses and consumers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, today’s announcement on the North-South Interconnector is extremely welcome. CBI NI has long championed its approval, citing the Interconnector as not only a key economic priority, but essential to efforts to decarbonise the local electricity market.

“The N-S Interconnector is a crucial piece of economic infrastructure which will support prosperity and employment across the island of Ireland. It will ensure the effective operation of an efficient all island electricity market and support the provision of a secure, sustainable, and cost-efficient electricity supply in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.”
