CBI responds to announcement of government investment in young people

John Foster, CBI Chief Policy & Campaigns Officer, said: 

"Funding additional college places and bursaries that reduce the financial barriers young people face to participating in training are welcome steps that will help extend opportunities to learn in every postcode. 

"Taken together with school reforms announced yesterday, this is the start of a positive plan to tackle youth unemployment. 

“An important next step in that journey will be for business and government to work together to reduce the costs that are holding firms back from creating new jobs or offering training.”
