CBI responds to Climate Change Committee report on Heathrow expansion

“With growing consensus across government and industry on how aviation can decarbonise, we should move beyond the false choice between economic growth and environmental progress. The challenge now is to scale and commercialise the solutions that will deliver both.

“That means government and industry working together to boost airport capacity, while at the same time unlocking vital investment in areas like airspace modernisation, sustainable aviation fuels and carbon removal technologies that can help the sector decarbonise. If we get that right, the UK can lead the world in demonstrating how stronger global connectivity and faster aviation decarbonisation can go hand in hand.”
