CBI responds to Government's productivity review

Felicity Burch, Director of Digital and Innovation, said:

“Productivity is the cornerstone to boosting wage growth and in turn improving living standards and could add up to £100bn to the UK economy.

“The next Government will need to have a concrete plan to tackle the UK’s productivity puzzle. This review provides some clear cut answers from increasing funding for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships to creating benchmarking tools to help firms understand the productivity challenge.

“Any future budgets must raise productivity boosting programmes to the top of the agenda, a good start would be providing more funding for the Made Smarter initiative and Be the Business programme.”
