CBI responds to immigration statistics

Matthew Percival, CBI Head of Employment, said:

“EU nationals make a vital contribution to the economy across all skill levels. These statistics confirm what firms have been experiencing ever since the referendum – an increased difficulty in recruiting and retaining EU staff.

“Free movement will end, but what replaces it must ensure companies can continue to recruit the full range of skills that they need to succeed - whether from the EU or the rest of the world - and that the UK remains a welcoming place to work and live.”
