CBI responds to Stephen Kinnock's appointment as Secretary of State for Wales

“Congratulations to Stephen Kinnock on becoming Secretary of State for Wales. Business looks forward to building on its strong relationship with the Wales Office to support delivery of the new government’s agenda and welcoming the new Prime Minister to Wales soon. 

“Ambitious plans to improve the livelihoods of people across Wales must be matched by action to get local businesses thriving once again. Key to achieving this is a close working relationship with business and the new Welsh Government. Addressing the cost-of-living challenge needs to go hand in hand with tackling the cost of doing business, so we can deliver sustainable growth in jobs, wages and living standards in every corner of Wales.

“We also thank Jo Stevens for her efforts as Secretary of State to drive forward growth, inward investment and clean energy projects, including the small modular nuclear reactor at Wylfa in North Wales.”
