It's been a very busy start to the autumn with events and policy activity in the region.
On the Cambridge/Oxford arc, we have continued our engagement with the LEPs and Homes England to continue to make the Arc a reality. We have also been feeding in member views into the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority transport strategy - more information below; and we have been active with the region’s LEPs with the development and delivery of their Local Industrial Strategies.
Future of Transport in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
For many of us in the region, we are all too aware of the transport challenges facing us, particularly in the Cambridgeshire area. This month, we have written to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mayor, James Palmer to offer support for his Local Transport Plan. There are still gaps in the prospectus about how such large-scale infrastructure projects – whether that’s the Cambridge Autonomous Metro, or improvements to the A47 – are funded. We look forward to engaging further with the Mayor to help ensure the voice of business is represented in this process.
