Welcome back to the autumn term, enthused with new plans and full of vigour I’m sure. It may feel like there are still vital things to be resolved in our economy, but I know that there are plenty of opportunities ahead to positively shape the rest of the year.
In that vein, I'm particularly excited about the CBI's Conference, Economic Growth - The Energy Opportunity, on the 9th October in Newcastle. The event will focus on how the north can lead the UK’s efforts to compete in the growing international market for low carbon technologies. I hope you will be able to attend.
