The Government has launched a consultation on streamlining the planning process for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), following reforms proposed in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.
The CBI will be responding to the consultation, which closes on 28 October. We are seeking input from members to shape our response and are especially interested to hear from businesses who have firsthand experience of the NSIP regime. In particular, we would value views on:
- How should pre-application consultation be reformed?
- What should be the role of local authorities and statutory consultees?
- What other reforms would help speed up the NSIP process?
Please contact Josh Male to share your thoughts or to arrange a discussion on the consultation.
