Adriana Curca
CBI Economics Manager

Adriana Curca leads CBI Economics, overseeing the delivery of commercial services within the CBI’s Economics Directorate. She is responsible for directing a portfolio of high-impact economic and policy research projects for clients across the public and private sectors. This includes economic and policy impact assessments, bespoke business surveys and interviews, and tailored economic briefings that inform strategic decisions.
Adriana has successfully delivered and led large-scale, evidence-based research programmes and developed CBI Economics’ economic impact models, which quantify the UK-wide, regional and local contributions of companies, investment projects, industrial clusters and niche sectors. Her work helps clients articulate their economic value, demonstrate policy relevance, and build compelling cases for investment and intervention.
She brings extensive experience in engaging with senior stakeholders across business and government to understand their commercial and policy priorities and shape research that supports their objectives. Her collaborative approach ensures that evidence is aligned with real-world decision-making needs.
Adriana previously worked in CBI policy teams, influencing national policy on issues including business taxation, innovation, net zero and skills. She led CBI’s work on business rates reform, building the case for change with members, developing policy recommendations, and engaging with HM Treasury and other government departments to deliver influence and impact.
Earlier in her career, Adriana worked in local government, where she used economic analysis to support regional economic strategies and public sector investment decisions. Her work focused on estimating the impact of government interventions and strengthening the economic and strategic cases for funding bids.
