Martin Sartorius
Principal Economist

Martin Sartorius is a Principal Economist in the CBI’s Economic Intelligence team, where he leads the organisation’s flagship UK economic forecast. A regular commentator in UK and international media, he provides expert analysis on economic data, forecasts, and business survey trends. Martin frequently delivers briefings and written reports to business leaders and government stakeholders.
Martin oversees the production of several of the CBI’s key business surveys and member-facing products, drawing on survey evidence and business insight to help decision-makers understand economic trends and plan with confidence. During his time at the CBI, he has also contributed to a range of policy work – including providing oral evidence to the Low Pay Commission – and led consultancy projects on investment trends for regional development bodies.
Martin joined the CBI in 2017, having previously worked in big data analytics at Clickfox. He holds a BA from Claremont McKenna College and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
