The CBI Council is the formation of all the CBI Standing Committees and Regional Councils, representing over 600 senior business leaders from over 400 CBI members across all parts of the UK economy. These groups are consulted quarterly on what we do and how we do it.
What joining CBI Regional or National Council can offer you and your business:
- INFLUENCE CHANGE: Directly influence and shape the development of CBI policy and campaigns.
- PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE: Gain first class political and economic intelligence relevant to you and your business.
- CONNNECT FOR SUCCESS: Network with senior business leaders and hear from a range of key political and economic stakeholders across your region.
Who we look to join our Councils:
- Are you a senior decision maker in your business?
- Are you responsible for a significant faction of your organisation or do you have a cross-business function?
- Do you understand how changes to the policy, legislative and economic landscape will impact on business decisions and future performance?
- If yes, then apply to join the CBI Council.
Next steps and timeline for Council elections
- Throughout September and October we will be seeking nominations to our 12 Regional and National Councils. The information you provide in your Application Form may be used on a ballot if we receive more applications than spaces available on the Council. The election process is designed to refresh membership of the Regional and Nationals Councils on a regular basis and helps to keep the make-up of the Councils reflective of business in the region.
- If elected, your term is for three years starting on 1 January 2026.
- Each Regional Council is limited to one representative per member, members are limited to 5 seats across the whole Regional and National Council network.
If you have any questions on the process, please contact your CBI Director or email [email protected]
